Le Mémorial apparthotel

We stayed here with my wife and our two children from September 1st to 7th, 2019, and the accommodation made our holiday even better. The owners were kind and courteous, helped us with everything we needed, and even sent some clothes we'd left behind. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, and had all the conveniences we could want, including a washer-dryer. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. Just a few steps away there was a wonderful brasserie with welcoming staff and excellent food, and the woman there even gave us croissants for the trip home. Highly recommended.

For over 100 euros a day, we expected much better. The bed sagged in the middle, and although there was storage in the garage, you'd need a small car because the space is too narrow. The bathroom smelled foul and had moldy grout. The toilet had been used before we arrived and hadn't been flushed. The dishes were dirty, and the kitchen faucet was falling apart. I really can't recommend this apartment.

The shower could use a small shelf for shampoo, if I'm being picky. Otherwise, the apartment was pleasant, well furnished, and very well equipped. We had a great stay and will keep the address in mind for a future trip to Caen.

We spent more than 7 hours in the museum, with a 30-minute break for lunch. It’s a very thorough and moving visit, and the audio guide adds a lot. A must-see.
