The reception team were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and fresh, though the standard felt a little dated. It’s quiet inside, with free parking, a fenced pool and local transport right outside. The restaurant food was good, and it’s a three-minute walk to the hospital and about 20 minutes from Normandy. Check-in and checkout were quick, and reception felt customer-focused. It worked well for a couple of nights. The main drawback is the major roads around the hotel. I rated the bed firmness 6 and value for money 5, with details below in the original review.

We really enjoyed staying here. The room was comfortable and very clean, the staff were friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was quiet. Good location, too.

4/10
We had enough space in the room as a group, and the beds were comfortable. The shower pressure was amazing, and for us, not having a bathtub was a plus. There were plenty of people using the outdoor pool, though we didn’t try it ourselves. The hotel is away from the busier parts of town, and tram fares are very low if you want to go shopping or out for dinner. Our main problem was that there was no temperature control. When I mentioned it, the receptionist offered to bring a fan instead of fixing the air control, but neither a technician nor a fan ever turned up.

The room smelled dusty when I came in, and there were pretzels and crumbs under the bed. It looked as if the vacuum bag had been full when the room was cleaned. Hygiene matters most in a hotel, so I was honestly disappointed. Every time I return here, I end up disappointed. There are only paper cups in the room, which is a shame. Why not provide ceramic ones? There aren’t any coffee machines in the rooms either.

The air conditioning was out, so the room was far too hot to sleep in. They neither repaired it nor offered anything to replace it. The room was also tiny for four people. Worst hotel experience we’ve had.
