Vanille Hotel

We’ve stayed at this lovely hotel more than once, and the ocean side has breathtaking views. It’s conveniently close to the airport for people flying into Nice. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, and the staff have always managed to meet our requests. We were pleasantly surprised that EV charging in the car park was free. Breakfast is served on site, with fresh croissants and other baked treats, plus enough to fill you up. Make some time to chat with the hosts at reception; it’s worth it.

The hotel is tidy and clean, and the reception team are friendly and helpful. The young receptionist was especially kind and helped us out of a difficult situation. In the morning, there are tasty croissants and coffee.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because I didn’t feel secure there. For the first time in my life, I was robbed in my room at night while I was sleeping with the light on. A bag containing valuables, cards, money, and documents was taken. The staff were rude and unfriendly and didn’t seem interested in helping. We paid 200 euros per night in August. The hotel also looks old and in need of repair, unlike the photos.

The room was pleasant, if small, with tasteful decor and a comfortable bed. We stayed during the third week of Fev 2024, using a first floor room that opened onto the courtyard. It was a nice stop while driving through the area. We found free street parking about 60' away, though we could have parked in the hotel yard. The promenade and restaurants were close by, and we visited both. We paid cash at check in, which seemed to please them. The morning we left changed our minds about returning: the water stopped while my wife was finishing her shower, then the managers, who may also have been the owners, seemed eager to get us out. When I called from the car to ask if I could check the room because we thought we might have left something, I got a curt response: "no my wife checked it and found nothing".
