Some bedrooms look out over a lovely stretch of river, and the area is quiet. Everything was clean, and there’s easy parking. It’s a manageable walk into town, good for a bit of exercise. The toilets on RDC by the bar are plentiful, each with its own hand basin and dryer. A very thoughtful setup. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is decent value and may be fine on its own, with a nice location, though its atmosphere feels rather commercial and industrial. But I really wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. The rooms are shabby, worn, dated, and badly in need of refurbishment, and the bathroom was damp and disgusting. I couldn’t find anything to redeem the rooms. From the hotel and room side, this doesn’t deserve even one star.

We only came for a meal, not an overnight stay. Since we hadn’t booked, the staff took ages to decide whether they could seat us, then put us at one of around 40 empty tables. Those tables were still empty when we left at 9:30 pm. The food was okay, like something you might make at home. The cute cat wandering around the tables looking for food was the best part. It was pleasant enough, but I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone after a really nice meal.

The river view was spectacular, and the bed was very comfortable. We’d made an error with our booking, but they helped us out and gave us their last room. Dinner was delicious, with local food and wine.

The hotel is very comfortable, and the restaurant serves fabulous food. It’s in a beautiful spot beside the River Lot, and the restaurant is incredible.
