The manager came across as friendly, but the service was a letdown after such a good meal. The mussels were excellent. Our food arrived in three courses, and before we'd even ordered mains, the waitress was already asking about dessert and coffee. It felt like we were being rushed through a quick eat-and-go, with no warmth or care in the details. That's why I can only give it three stars.

The mussels were good, but the cream had boiled in the pan, and the salted butter crepe was basically just salted butter on a crepe. The establishment itself is nice, though the service was mediocre and the waitress wasn't helpful at all. We were told swapping a few periwinkles for whelks couldn't be done, and my partner was shouted at because her handbag was on the floor and apparently a danger. Paying was awkward too: the owner said the bill shouldn't be brought automatically to the terrace, so we had to go inside. I can't imagine how this place handles peak season. The swell was awful!

Get there early. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. If you like fish, the skate wing with beurre blanc is well worth ordering: a generous serving and delicious.

Everything feels thoughtfully arranged, and the location right on the port of Cancale is ideal. All perfect.

The owners usually provide a pass for parking, which is a nice extra. The location is ideal.
