Cancale is such a pretty town, and the oysters are amazing and affordable. Sitting on the steps by the beach with a glass of wine makes it a great experience. If you love oysters, you really should come. We’ll return whenever we’re in France!

Fresh oysters straight from the sea were a highlight, and the dozen cost a very reasonable 8€ to 14€. The views across the blue Atlantic toward Mont saint michel are stunning, and the coast has a real charm. Definitely a destination to see.

There are loads of restaurants, with something to suit everyone, plus shops for what you need and plenty more. The sea views are lovely, and the water is shallow if you fancy a dip. Just note that the seafront car parks charge. A great day out, thoroughly recommended.

The first time I tried oysters was at the little shacks at the end of the promenade, and it was a lovely experience. When the tide goes out, the oyster beds are an interesting sight. The beach is covered in shells, so beach shoes might help on the way down to the sand. It’s a beautiful cove, though I wouldn’t suggest swimming there.
