Domaine De Respelido

We've made an exception to our usual rule of not returning to the same holiday spot, and came back to Domaine de Respelido in 2020. It's the perfect place to unwind, with lovely mountain villages and the sea nearby. Thanks again, Coralie, Sabrina and Jean-Paul, for another amazing holiday! On our first visit in August 2019, we found a tranquil green oasis in the South of France. The eight spacious, quiet villas have everything you need and each has a private garden. The gardens and swimming pool are beautifully designed and exceptionally well maintained. There's also a sauna and hot tub. The friendly owners are there to help whenever needed. It's close to Nice, with the rest of the Côte d'Azur, the mountains, and even Italy nearby. Carros Village, up on the mountain, is worth a visit too.

The bungalow was comfortable and clean, with a large garden and handy air conditioning in every room. The grounds felt secure, and there's a well-stocked medium-sized supermarket just a minute away by car. Colomars La Manda train station is about a 5-10 minute drive. We loved the pool, which was beautifully kept and had very warm water. The jacuzzi, shower, and sauna are in the same block. We didn't expect to use the sauna, but it was so relaxing after an evening swim. The friendly owners were around to offer advice or help with bookings. Would highly recommend.

The pool area was the highlight for us. It's beautiful, and we spent most of our time there relaxing and playing in the water. We also liked having a garden to sit in after our daughter went to sleep, instead of being stuck in a hotel room. The little house was tidy and clean, with what we needed for a comfortable stay, though it only had a fan and no air conditioning. The owner was very friendly throughout, from booking to the end, and made us feel welcome. Nice is about a 25-minute drive away, and supermarkets are close, including ones open on Sunday mornings. Good restaurants, pretty villages, and the beach take around 30 minutes by car. We'd warmly recommend it to families or couples who'd rather stay in a house and want a more affordable option. We'll definitely come back.
