This rental in Castellane is a great deal if you're visiting the Verdon Gorge. It's about a 15-minute walk into town and 30-50 minutes from great climbing spots and places to access the water in the gorge. Inside, there are four beds, a living area, a well equipped kitchen, and two full bathrooms. The only problem for us was slow wifi, which can be difficult if you don't have phone data. We'd definitely stay here again when visiting Verdon and Castellane.
The location was peaceful, but still close to the center. We had a spacious room and a good breakfast, and Marc and Brigitte were lovely, friendly hosts who were always happy to help. Make sure you book a massage too!
We really enjoyed the garden access and private parking, and the easy walk into town takes about 20 minutes. The rooms can be a bit noisy, though. Inside, ours had a comfortable bed, heating that we definitely needed at the end of September, a bathroom with both a shower and bathtub, and plenty of storage. The guesthouse has just two units and is run wonderfully by Marc and Brigitte, who both speak excellent German. They gave us useful tips for the Verdon Canyon, the Daluis Gorge, and the surrounding area. The kitchen is always available, and the fridge is kept stocked with drinks at reasonable prices. We also got to have a very good dinner here. But the breakfast was the real standout, the best and most extensive of our whole trip. The town has lots of restaurants, and this place is an easy recommendation. 👍
The breakfast was fantastic, and the room was spotless. What really made the stay was the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Add a lovely little terrace and an unmatched natural setting, and it feels like paradise. Thank you, Brigitte and Marc, for everything.
Brigitte and Marc made me feel like there are still wonderful people in the world. Everything in the room was immaculate, the bedding was superb, and the garden is right outside. It was so peaceful, and the cleanliness was impeccable. Brigitte makes breakfast to suit your preferences. The massages are the real luxury here, and the price is fantastic. Treat yourself at the end of the day, you won't regret it. I only just discovered this place, but I'll definitely return. Thank you, Brigitte, for being such a wonderful person.
