The spa was clean and the service was great, though the facilities felt a bit limited compared with what I expected. Breakfast was good and solid, but dinner was on another level. The menu was excellent and the service entertaining. The team was warm and welcoming, the location beautiful, and our room was lovely. There’s also a great salon with an open fireplace.

We stayed four magical nights with friends at La Bastide en Gascogne, and wished we’d booked more time. The peaceful French countryside made a beautiful setting, and the property exceeded what we hoped for. The team’s care stood out throughout the visit. They arranged a private wine tasting, offered local shopping suggestions, and made sure wonderful food and wine were always available when we needed them. Our room was elegant, well appointed, and perfectly air-conditioned for relaxing after sunny days. The pool was cool and refreshing, and the countryside around it was so peaceful. Dinner each evening was perfectly prepared, with every dish better than the last and a lovely selection of local wines. A special thank you to Mimsy, Damian, Kim, Helen, Maddie, Elissa, Mari-Ange, Christophe, Ennis, and Matteau. Their warmth and attention to detail made us feel like honored guests and made the stay unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!

We really enjoyed our two nights at la bastide. There’s a slightly informal feel at times, but the experience is still high quality. Even the simpler room was lovely, and our dog was welcome throughout. We hadn’t realized how much room there was around the property, indoors and out, to relax. The restaurant was a highlight. We ate dinner there twice, and both meals were excellent, despite a small mix-up with a special dinner. The staff were generally warm and sweet. Maddie was especially cheerful at both dinner and breakfast, and Luciana looked after us at dinner, even bringing mosquito spray when our table was near a hedge. Those little touches showed the team’s care and preparation. We didn’t visit the village this time, though it’s very close for anyone wanting more food options.

My wife and I love coming here for the occasional night away. It’s such a lovely place, with tasteful decor, five-star bedrooms, and a beautiful setting. The staff are lovely too. This summer, though, there seemed to be a horsefly problem, and it almost spoiled our sunset drinks. Still, that’s the countryside, after all :)

A lovely hotel and definitely worth a visit. We stayed at La Bastide and found the rooms large and comfortable, with huge bathrooms. There’s a fireplace where you can sit with a drink after dinner, a nice outdoor pool with beds around it, and a lovely restaurant. The hotel is part of a larger complex focused on medical care and the benefits of natural thermal waters, but it’s separate, and that shouldn’t put you off. We skipped the hotel breakfast because it was expensive at €26 per person. Shops and cafés are five minutes away on the village’s Main Street. We got a bag of mixed croissants from the local Boulangerie for a couple of Euro, enough for breakfast and lunch. There’s also a little café right at the start of the village serving coffee and a croissant for a couple of Euro. Our room was good value compared with the Relais & Chateau hotels in the area. The only slight letdown was the small spa area for hotel guests, with just a steam room, a large jacuzzi, and some treatment rooms. The outdoor pool was good, though. €€€
