I only stopped in for lunch at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the setting was lovely, away from the crowds but still close to popular places. Our host and server was kind and very patient with my shaky French and his limited English.

Eric, the host, is a lovable, friendly chap who really wants to help. Our French was embarrassingly poor, but we got by with nods and hand gestures, and appreciated how patient he was. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful, with bread, croissants, baguettes, and a choice of preserves. The place is very clean, modern, bright, and beautifully presented. We had air con for hot summer nights, lots of outdoor space to relax, a terrific shower, and a very comfortable bed. The walls are soundproofed, so it was very quiet, and parking was no problem. It's a lovely rural base for exploring. Sarlat, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Marqueyassac Gardens, Castleaud, and many other chateaus are just 10-20 minutes away. We'd stay here again and highly recommend La Maravela.
