Hotel le Mas Trilles

The owner and his wife were so kind and looked after us really well. The whole house feels welcoming, and it’s a beautiful, comfortable place to stay. Great location, lovely views of Céret’s iconic Trois Ponts (Three Bridges), and plenty of parking.

We found this cozy family hotel welcoming. The family who run it are very nice, and the rooms are decorated with care. It’s also well placed for visiting this magnificent French town.

The manager’s partner was really nice, which was the one bright spot. We were disappointed by several things. We understood it as a guesthouse, but it felt like a private hotel, with no contact with guests or the other occupants. The photos didn’t match what we found, and there was only a curtain between the bedroom and the bathroom/toilet, so there was no privacy. Cleanliness was questionable: sheets and towels, the crib, stained and broken tiles, dust, and grime were all concerns. Meals came with no choice or even a menu, despite this being a "guesthouse/restaurant." Prices were excessive, and breakfast was set at a table facing a busy road, with exhaust fumes. There was no private parking, and the owner was unfriendly and didn’t engage with us. They blamed the summer season and being too busy to look after guests. In our view, they should take fewer guests to improve service. A disappointing stay.

We drove 200 km after booking, then arrived in the evening to collect our room and were left out on the street. Nobody opened the door or answered our calls. A few days later, we rang to ask what had happened, and when they finally answered, they just hung up. Appalling. Thanks for the hassle.
