Campanile NATURE - Alençon

After a long drive, the evening meal and the people working made the stay. Rude at reception was welcoming and helpful, and Mehdi in the restaurant was a great host, putting guests at ease with jokes and a laugh. Nicolas the Chef made some really good food. The restaurant helped us unwind, and they even remembered us from our previous visit 5 months ago. It's a budget hotel, with comfortable, practical rooms. There was a kettle, paper cups, and a couple of tea and coffee sachets. For us, it's well placed for a short drive to Calais after coming from northern Spain. Breakfast was great for a budget hotel, with cereals, fruit, bread, and more. We'll definitely come back.

We were there as a group and the attached bar and dining area put on a very impressive buffet. It's a motel in a quiet semi-industrial area, so you can park right outside your room. A bit dated, with an almost 1980s look, but that didn't bother us. The grassy parking area was pleasant for meeting up with friends outside.

The place looked a little rundown at first, but for the price the facilities and service were excellent. We slept really well in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was simple and plentiful, and you could go back to the serving area as often as you liked. Staff were attentive without hovering, and they spoke English if you needed it. You could have a drink in reception or sit outside in nice weather while waiting for your table. We’ll probably stay at the same hotel on the way home! Carefulnottight.co.uk

We stopped here overnight on the way to Spain. It's just off the motorway in what seems to be a more commercial area. Reception staff were helpful when we arrived at 9.30 pm. The room was dated but very comfortable. The only problem was a drain smell inside the room and around the area. Breakfast for €10 was fresh and presented very well.
