The location was excellent, the bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and breakfast had some variety. The other staff were kind, especially Collette, but for the price we were disappointed and will look elsewhere next year. The place feels dated throughout, with very old carpets and fixtures, and piles of furniture and other things stored in what I assume used to be common spaces. The value just isn’t there: the facilities cost a lot, and there were no welcoming touches. At breakfast, the woman who greeted us, who I believe was the owner, wasn’t very friendly. She took the Nespresso capsules off the bar when we wanted pod coffee instead of brewed coffee, gave us too few place settings for the number of guests, and only one croissant per person. She generally wasn’t very nice. The brewed coffee was really bad. For €200+ a night, you’d think a guest could have a Nespresso if that’s what they wanted.

We arrived without a reservation, but luckily there was a room available. The staff greeted us warmly and were really kind. The room felt authentic and thoughtfully furnished, and although the bathroom is small, it has everything you need. I was especially glad to find a coffee machine in the room for a change.

We only stayed one night, but really liked this charming place. The building has an authentic feel and the rooms are nicely decorated. Breakfast is no longer served, though there’s a very good bakery and a convenience store just a few metres away, so we could easily pick things up there.

The breakfast was very good, served in a wine cellar with a lovely atmosphere. Our room was spacious and very clean, with nice linen and a comfortable bed and pillows. The location is great too. The bathroom, though, was very small and uncomfortable.

After walking more than 20 km through torrential rain, we arrived soaked and were asked to pay before we’d even had a chance to take off our rain gear and settle in. That welcome was unpleasant. The rooms were dated but clean. Dinner was simple and good, and the breakfast buffet had a good variety.
