The countryside is peaceful here, while Chablis's best shops are still close by and easy to reach on foot. The house is spacious and pleasantly decorated with elegant simplicity, near both the vineyards and the town center. A place to remember, and one of those great finds you almost want to keep secret.

The owner made us feel very welcome and was happy to adapt to requests to make things easier. She also shared recommendations for outings, visits, and good places to go. We especially enjoyed the comfortable guesthouse and its tasteful decor, right in the heart of Chablis. There’s a garden outside with a barbecue and furnished terrace. We can’t wait to come back. Once you’re inside Villa Célestine, it’s wonderfully peaceful, even though all the essential shops are close by in the center of Chablis. The old stone and decor have so much charm, and the hosts have done a lovely job renovating and personalizing the place. You can tell they love what they do. There’s a spacious living room, a garden, and a Jacuzzi, so it works well for families or a small group of friends. The decor is tasteful and the beds are comfortable. I was a little bothered by having to strip the beds and sort the sheets and towels at checkout, since I see that as part of basic hotel service. Still, don’t let that put you off: it’s an elegant, cozy place in the heart of Chablis, with a bakery, restaurant, and shops just steps away. You can get around without much need for a car, and the wine is hard to resist. Also, worth discovering the secret behind the library.
