La Villa du Lac

The lake views are stunning, and the building itself is magnificent. The owners were very welcoming, and breakfast was fresh and nicely balanced. There was some noise, though, which seems to come with the character of an old building. I’d recommend it.

I liked the room and its view over the lake. But after our trip to Lyon, we arrived late and were refused breakfast at 10:05, even though the latest serving time was 9:45. Since it was the off-season, that felt inappropriate and unfriendly to customers. I won’t be coming back.

The lake view was magnificent, and the rooms were spotless and decorated with taste. The welcome was very warm too. The breakfast felt expensive for what was offered, and the bed was very hard, though that may come down to personal preference.

At €9.50, breakfast was varied and generous, and the room was roomy with pleasant decor. The hotel sits across from the lake. The bathroom is basic, and noise carries through the old building because the soundproofing is poor.
