The restaurant was a highlight, everything tasted delicious and the portions were generous. My stay was decent overall, though I wish the cleaning staff had noticed the dead gnats along the window by the desk. Traffic from the car park was also quite noticeable, so the soundproofing could be better.

On my second evening away from the hotel, I came back to find that my room hadn't been made up. At reception, the first woman brushed me off without much interest. The second handed me a fitted sheet and a towel, basically leaving me to sort things out myself. The room hadn't been spotless to begin with. That was enough to make this my first and last stay here.

The place was clean and practical, with the comforts we needed, and breakfast was excellent. We live in a quiet house, so the first night was quite a change: our room was beside a traffic light on a busy road. For the next night, the person running the hotel kindly offered us a quieter room at the back. We really appreciated that thoughtful gesture and the warm welcome. It's not a grand hotel, but it does the job well. 😊

The bed was very comfortable, and everything else was fine. Special thanks to the young woman on reception Sunday evening and Monday morning, she was especially kind and helpful.

After 20 years, I wanted to give the Campanile another try. Oh dear. The meat was rubbery, the standard side dishes weren't very good, and the doggy bag was put together badly.
