The train made getting to Chamonix and the other villages easy, and hotel guests receive a free pass. We also loved the hotel itself. We came hoping for a cozy Christmas feel and found it. Lunch came with a spectacular view of Aiguille du Midi, and our room had that same view from its balcony. The room wasn’t large, but it was comfortable, with a modern walk-in shower and two windows. Dinner was excellent, from the tasty aperitif snacks to the wonderful dessert buffet, and breakfast was just as impressive. We’d happily recommend a winter stay and hope to return in summer for the pool and the many activities around the valley.

Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, it’s a lovely place for lunch or dinner. The views are incredible from inside and outside, and the management are always warm and welcoming. The food is consistently good, with a solid wine list. Go hungry, because there’s a lot on offer and included. It’s a calm, graceful spot in a valley that can get hectic.

We booked for five at the last minute, just an hour before dinner, and the restaurant was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. Payment by card failed with three different cards. I had enough cash, so we sorted it, though a bank link for direct payment would have been useful otherwise. We’ll definitely come back to dine.

We had a great stay, with lovely staff and great views from the hotel. I used the sauna twice and liked that it was properly warm, unlike the too-cool saunas you find in some hotels. Table tennis and the bar were good too, though the pool table could use some improvement. They even put together a small breakfast for our early alpine starts on two days.

A friendly, family-run hotel and a good value place to stay for skiing. I didn’t feel we had to give anything up for the price.
