The hosts were charming, welcoming, and helpful, and the room was very comfortable. Everything was perfect for a one-night stay with my girlfriend. I highly recommend it.

We really liked the chateau atmosphere and had a great stay, including a good breakfast. The host was friendly and welcoming, and our little boys loved playing with Paddy the dog. They were sad to leave. We stayed for two nights while travelling to and from Puy de Fou.

Laurent and his wife gave us such a warm welcome, which made an already special place even better. The manor house has character and is clean and comfortable. There's a short walk around the grounds with the very friendly dogs. Our room was comfortable and the wifi was decent. The shower is the sort you use while standing in the bath, but that was fine for me. Dinner was an unexpected treat. Because of staff shortages, a caterer had prepared it in advance, and the dishes arrived in jars. There was plenty of choice and it was surprisingly good. I had an excellent meal, with great service and atmosphere, and enjoyed every bite and every minute. Happy to recommend the Manoir.

For a visit to Vendée, including Puy du Fou, the Manoir/Chateau de Ponsay is a genuinely authentic place to stay. The owners were hospitable and offered excellent advice. Laurent de Ponsay is a descendant and heir in a long line of 'Lords of this Manor.' I found it much more rewarding than a commercial hotel or a less authentic B&B.

We stayed here last year and it was absolutely superb. Laurent and his wife are welcoming and down to earth. Though it's a bed and breakfast, Laurents wife is happy to make a three-course evening meal if you book ahead. Believe me, it's superb. I can't recommend the Manior De Ponsay enough.
