Hotel Particulier de Champrond

We had a really good meal in a beautiful setting, with friendly service and a pleasant, informal atmosphere. The price was fair, the dish selection wide, and they had top wines, including a delicious Burgundy. It's close to the cathedral and the center of Chartres, and you can dine on the terrace. If the weather turns worse, there's enough space to stay dry, and they don't panic. Top location. This is currently Jehan de Beauce's recommended restaurant.

Our Luxury Suite was spacious, but what kind of place is this meant to be, a hotel, guest room, restaurant, or reception venue? The soundproofing was extremely poor. A group of friends were yelling in the restaurant areas adjoining the suite until midnight, and you could hear the evening's guests while trying to relax on the lounge sofa. They seemed nice, but it wasn't cool. If you want a quiet night, go somewhere else. Too bad the videos won't show, they would have made the problem clear.

The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the view from the top was really cool. It looks like everything has only just been completed. One issue: there's no elevator, so it won't suit everyone, especially people with mobility problems. It also took us a bit to work out the exact location, since the building also houses a tearoom.

It's a superb, spacious, quiet luxury suite at the foot of the cathedral, but the amenities are very basic. There was no bathrobe, just sachets of shower products, and no breakfast, coffee maker, or refrigerator. That meant having to go outside the building.
