Ibis Budget Poitiers Nord Futuroscope

The heat made it really hard to sleep. Even with the windows open, the room stayed unbearably hot, and there was barely room to move because it was so small. I wasn’t expecting luxury from a budget hotel, just more comfort. I was very disappointed with my recent stay at Ibis Budget Poitiers and wouldn’t recommend it.

The bunk bed was a hit with my kid, and the room was clean and practical for a budget hotel. There’s plenty of parking, EV charging, and restaurants nearby, all for a very reasonable price. One thing the confirmation email didn’t explain: when reception is closed, your booking reference is the self check-in code. Use it on the keypad for both the room and front door, with no key or card needed. Very practical.

The staff were all incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was basic but fine, with fresh bread and viennoiseries on the weekend. On Monday, though, they served leftovers from Sunday. The room was an okay size, fairly well soundproofed, with lots of sockets; the bed was comfortable, the heating worked, and the window opened. There’s not much storage, just a few hangers and a shelf or desk. I really disliked the bathroom setup: the toilet had its own cubicle, the shower was another cubicle opening off the room, and the sink was in the room too. We picked the hotel because it was cheap and within walking distance of futuroscope.

I hadn't stayed in an ibis budget for a while, and they used to feel a bit shabby. Since the refurbishment, the beds are comfier, the shower rooms are better, and breakfast has improved a lot. They’re much better now.
