Domaine Et Golf Du Roncemay

There’s loads of room for a dog to run around, and the peaceful setting is probably the most tranquil place I’ve stayed. I came back a few days ago after staying here last year, and it was just as good. My cosy room was lovely, and the restaurant had improved since my last visit. A thunderstorm meant we ate indoors instead of on the terrace, but the glass-walled dining room made that perfectly fine. I’d love to find time to play the beautiful-looking golf course, and I’m already looking forward to coming back next year.

The rooms were perfect, the setting beautiful, and the service friendly and very good. One small suggestion for restaurant service: staff should avoid going empty during courses, which could make things more efficient and give them more chances to interact with guests. We’ll definitely return.

We didn’t get to explore the beautiful grounds because of the rain, so next time we’re planning to stay longer. This was our first visit to Domaine du Roncemay, and we’re already eager to come back. It definitely won’t be our last.

We picked the hotel expecting a very good dinner, based on its description, but Sunday’s meal was only just passable. The food tasted okay, though it seemed the chef had left the staff to plate up pre-prepared cold starters and reheat the main course. The bedroom was disappointing too, with a strong musty smell that may have been connected to the bath. A panel of tiles along its side had been removed and left broken and poorly replaced. The long, winding drive from the A6 didn’t feel worthwhile.
