4/10
The dinner we had at the hotel was outstanding, which was a bright spot. The stay itself was disappointing, though. The room was small, the bed was thin, and the place felt dingy and in need of remodeling. I could overlook that in a small hotel in the French countryside, but the service was less than good. One woman on staff gave several people in my traveling group a hard time. My wife thought the milk in her coffee had gone bad, and although it hadn't, it upset her stomach and she wanted to throw it away. The woman wouldn't let her. We'd had such a lovely time in Brittany and met some truly wonderful people, so this was the first major disappointment of the trip. It felt like an average European hotel.
