Reservations seem wise since it gets busy. We were lucky to find a table on Sunday at this welcoming hotel restaurant in Châtenois. The hostess and staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere felt warm and home-like. A collection of teddy bears gives the place a charming, distinctive character. I had the Poulet au Riesling with Spätzle, cooked just right and full of flavor, with a lovely Pinot Gris. My companion’s escalope de veau was very good too. Before that, we shared foie gras and toasted bread with a Porto aperitif over ice, which was excellent. We had no room for dessert 🫣, but the espresso was outstanding, thick, aromatic, and rich. Cozy Alsatian food and hospitality. Highly recommended😍

This is fine if you just need somewhere clean and quiet to sleep at a fair price, with nothing fancy. The room had only soap and two bags of shower gel for a three-night stay, and there was no fridge. We weren’t told about the water being cut off in our room. The cleaner disturbed us twice because she didn’t know whether we were still in the room. The receptionist/owner also seemed unfriendly, as if every question bothered her. It felt very uncomfortable.

It’s a lovely, cozy place with a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Nothing fancy, but the food is freshly made and homemade, and the prices are extremely fair.

Best hotel in Chatenois!!! Update: they’ve recently upgraded the internet to fiber. I’m getting 250 meg both down and up in my room and in the hallways. A huge improvement if you need reliable, fast internet.
