Les hauts de Chaumont

After a castle visit in weather close to 30 degrees, a quick dip in the pool was so refreshing. The guesthouse is close enough to walk to the castle, and the welcome was friendly. Breakfast was fine, though it was repetitive over our two days. The hostess talks a lot, and we would have liked a little more quiet at breakfast. Still, her sightseeing tips were excellent. She knows the castles, even some less famous ones, and helped us find places off the usual path. I recommend this guesthouse.

We were five adults and three children staying for two nights in the separate house, and it was more than satisfactory. The recently renovated rooms are tastefully done, the beds are very comfortable, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The garden is lovely, and you can watch hot air balloons take off nearby in the morning and evening. The house is charming, set in the hills above Chaumont next to Chaumont Castle, and the host was welcoming. The parking area is a bit small, and you have to reverse out, but otherwise everything was great. There must be extra rooms in the host’s house too.

We stayed in the Diane de Poitiers room, up in the heights of Chaumont, and had a very pleasant visit. The room was spacious and comfortable, with the pool available for relaxing. The castle is only a few hundred meters away, and our host was happy to tell us about it and the different activities around. An ideal place to stay.

You can get around on foot from this lovely place, which is close to the center and Chaumont’s beautiful sights. The hostess was kind and attentive, and we felt very well looked after. Highly recommended. Thank you, Béatrice, for your hospitality. Sandra and Michel from Rennes
