We had already paid online through Accor and I had both the booking confirmation and the receipt, after the outside machine failed and my sister's phone booking had to be repeated. The next morning, though, receptionist Catherine banged on my door and opened it while I was still in bed, accusing me of not paying and demanding that I come out right away. I'm an English-speaking foreigner, so I needed a translator. Catherine said I was lying and claimed I had spoken French on the phone. It was my sister who had made that call. The receptionist and security staff spoke to me aggressively and treated me like I was trying to cheat them. Once we cleared up the duplicate reservation, we tried another POS machine at the front desk and the payment went through without trouble. The outside machine seems to have caused problems for others too. This could have been handled calmly at checkout by explaining there was an issue with the online booking. That kind of aggression over a simple payment problem was completely unnecessary. A very disturbing and unprofessional experience.
