The room had been renovated, and the area around it was fairly quiet. There are also two good restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast didn't stand out, and the room where it was served felt rather cold. We missed some of the charm and personal warmth you'd expect from a small B&B, though that's just our feeling based on the other B&Bs we stayed at during our trip to Bourgogne.

Bruno was helpful with suggestions for restaurants and places to visit, and he and his wife were lovely hosts. We had especially good breakfasts, with homemade croissants, and the rooms were spotless and nicely decorated. La Barbotière felt like a peaceful spot in the French countryside.

The breakfast was gorgeous, and the surroundings were fantastic. The rooms were spacious and had everything you'd expect. The hosts know the area and French gastronomy really well, and it's a great base for exploring the Chablis region. Absolutely stunning.
