Gîte De Chevreuse

The forest is about a 15-minute uphill walk, with castle walls to the left and a quiet nature park to the right. We even spotted a few mushrooms. Chevreuse itself is a lovely little town, and the place looks onto a small garden, so the view of trees and sky was nice in the morning. We saw two cats out there too. The RER is a 20-minute walk away, along a pretty promenade, though it got busy with people and cars over the weekend. We stayed one night in Gite Campagne. It was cozy, clean, and nicely decorated, with two bedrooms and comfortable beds for a family. The open kitchen and living room had a central table and a bar table, but no couch. This is a vacation rental, not a B&B. The owner rents four apartments in the house and lives upstairs. There was no breakfast or kitchen basics like tea, coffee, salt, or pepper, but supermarkets are nearby. Soap, towels, and toilet paper were provided. You also need to clean before leaving or there’s an extra charge. At 140€ for one night, I thought it was a little pricey, but it made a nice break from Paris.

Such a baby-friendly place, with lots to keep you having fun nearby. Easily worth more than five stars!

We brought our baby along and had a really relaxing weekend. The cottages were comfortable and well equipped, and the hosts were incredibly attentive. It’s a peaceful, green setting with lovely hiking trails close by. A great place to recharge, and we’d happily recommend it :)

My three-year-old daughter and I spent 15 days here and had a really pleasant stay. The gîte was clean and cozy, and the quiet setting felt very welcoming. Our hosts were friendly and attentive. I’d definitely return.
