The young couple who run the place handle everything themselves, which made our stay feel personal. They even helped me when I thought my phone had completely given up. It’s also an easy trip to and from the ferry at Caen, and a lovely place to stay.

The staff were genuinely excellent and helpful. Our room was small and quite old-fashioned, but it worked for us. It got hot without air conditioning, though we could leave the windows open. The walk into town is a bit long, unless you have a bike. There’s very good, secure bike storage.

We were given a code for the secure parking area and the property when we arrived. After riding our motorcycle in the rain, we hoped to dry some of our gear, but there was no heating and we couldn’t get the towel rails to work.

The breakfast was generous, and parking was easy. The hotel is just a few steps from the centre, very clean, and a lovely place. For a 2-star hotel, it met our expectations. Thanks to the staff and manager for such a warm welcome. We’d happily recommend it.

You’re only about 30 seconds from the train station, and there’s secure bike storage. The owner was very pleasant, too. The room had plenty of equipment despite being small, but the soundproofing was so poor that I could hear conversations from other rooms.
