The bathroom was spotless, with an astonishingly strong shower and plenty of very hot water. The owner was also lovely: welcoming, helpful, polite, and professional. We stayed in the gîte on the grounds. It was peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully set up, with a generous, well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom, though, got very cold on spring nights, even under the duvet. Some heating there would make a big difference. There was no WiFi either, which was disappointing. We’d consider coming back. With bedroom heating, this would have been a five-star stay.

The setting is lovely, and the kids had a great time in the pool. The room felt a bit dated, though, and having neither WiFi nor mobile signal was a shame.

We couldn’t sleep in a room like this, so we left and had to find another hotel. There was no refund, of course, and the owner acted in bad faith. Avoid this place. The room was at the top of a dovecote in terrible condition. The carpet had a hole, cobwebs were everywhere, the lights didn’t work, one window wouldn’t open, and there was a crack in the ceiling. A disastrous experience. It’s disgraceful to rent out a room in that state.

The cottage was spotless and nicely equipped, and we had a very pleasant one-night stay. We were greeted warmly, too. I’m taking off a star because the pool wasn’t open, despite the hot, sunny weather. I’d recommend the place.
