Getting around is easy by public transport despite the hotel's location on the edge of the city, and there is plenty of parking. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, but upkeep needs attention. Tea and coffee weren't replenished, and on some days the room wasn't cleaned at all. The staff didn't feel especially welcoming or helpful. I went to use the pool once and found it unavailable because of a chemical problem, though it was open with no notice or sign. I swam in water that could have been unsafe until the receptionist came to tell me. When I asked how I was supposed to know it was closed, she said she'd lock the door after me. The gym was a joke too, just a tiny room with a couple of machines and no room to lay out a yoga mat.

For a stop on the road, Kyriad is handy and affordable. It's right by the A75 ramp, so you don't lose time getting back on the freeway. E.Leclerc, really more of a shopping mall where you can buy everything, is a five-minute drive away. After a long day behind the wheel, the small pool is a relaxing bonus. There's a gym too, though we all know it's mostly there to gather dust. I also prefer the laminate floors to carpet, they seem much cleaner to me.

The room was spotless and the staff were polite. The toilet smelled a bit, though. The indoor pool is small, but nice for a quick dip after a long drive, and the hotel was easy to find.

We used to enjoy stopping here on the way to our holidays. This year, though, we only heard two weeks before arrival that the secure car park wouldn't be available and we'd have to find a public space elsewhere. How can that happen?

The place looks very clean, and the staff were nice. I gave it four stars because, unlike other hotels in the chain, there's no restaurant inside. There are several very close by in the neighborhood, though.
