Breakfast in the little courtyard, among the trees and plants, was the highlight: fresh fruit, yoghurt, jam, and warm waffles. We stayed in the family room, which had enough space for two adults and two children, plus a private bathroom for extra comfort. The Chambre d'hôte is right in the centre of Clermond-Ferrand. As soon as you walk in, the Asian atmosphere carries through the rooms. We had a wonderful stay.

The room design was lovely and everything seemed well cared for. Right in the heart of Clermont Ferrand, the place felt like a calm little haven with a cosmopolitan feel. The breakfast room had a very Thai look, and there was an excellent range of teas. The owners were incredibly friendly, and sold African fabric, Asian sculptures, spices, and herbs. Their funny birds flew over our heads between the kitchen and living room. A unique, deeply memorable stay. Thanks so much!

We arrived the next day only to be told that our reservation could no longer be honored, leaving us with nowhere to stay that night. The night before, I had spoken with the host by phone and everything seemed settled. I suspect someone had booked the room meant for us at a higher price, and the host decided to turn us away and cancel on the spot. Stay away. These are the worst kind of people.

The breakfast was fantastic. We stayed in a gorgeous, charming home, and although it was mostly vertical, the layout felt very open. I'd recommend it to anyone.
