Font Mourier Hotel

We had a really fun stay. It's a great place away from the crowds, yet only a short drive from the city. The staff are friendly, the several pools were great, and they put on small, fun theme parties in the evenings. There's free parking too, and the bar and lunch menu are great. I'd definitely recommend it.

We were charged €49 at brunch without being told about the fee beforehand. One of us hadn't eaten and only had a cocktail, but was still charged for the full brunch, with no fair explanation. When my friend was confronted about paying, the staff member was aggressive and humiliating, and the incident felt racially charged. The restaurant manager yelled when we raised it instead of trying to resolve things. That night, someone from staff came into our room without knocking to demand payment. At the front desk they denied the whole thing when we brought it up, and gaslit us instead of apologizing or making it right. The service was inconsistent and at times felt disrespectful. The setting at Hôtel Font Mourier is undeniably beautiful and peaceful, but that doesn't make up for this, especially at upwards of €600 a night. For a hotel calling itself luxury, the hostility and lack of accountability were shocking. I've stayed in many hotels across Europe, and this was hands down one of my worst experiences. I wouldn't return or recommend it to anyone expecting professionalism, respect, or basic hospitality.

We booked this for our anniversary, but had such bad service that my partner said he would cancel and stay elsewhere. On arrival we were given the wrong room, then the next morning all we got was knocking on the door. They changed our room, but there was no water for a shower. We couldn't wash our hair or shower, so had to make do with the sink and flannels. Staff didn't come even after two calls, and our Saturday was wasted. The rooms need dusting and vacuuming, and we were bitten twice in bed. There was no iron, luckily we had brought a backup steamer. The so-called comfort room is tiny, with the bath right by the toilet. The bed was small and uncomfortable because it was two beds pushed together and we could feel the join.

The room was clean and had what we needed, though a little worn. The staff were excellent, all of them, really friendly without getting in the way. I'd recommend it.
