Residence Le Domaine d'Enserune - Vacanceole

The worst part for us was that our son's bike was stolen within an hour of arriving. We were there only a few days, which made the stay manageable, but a week would have driven me mad. Our chalet had no upstairs windows at all, and with no air conditioning or fans, the bedroom got unbearably hot, like sleeping in an oven. No air could get in. This seems crazy for the temperatures in Southern France at the height of summer. None of the chalets have air conditioning. The shower was so low you had to squat, and its head couldn't be raised for a standing shower. There were no bath plugs either, which made bathing a small child or baby difficult. Towels and linens were provided, but we had to make the bed ourselves, and the towels were tiny, barely big enough for a small child. There were lots of cats around the complex, and they defecated on the grass by the patio. The smell made it impossible to eat or enjoy an evening drink outside. All the paperwork we were sent to review before arriving was only in French. Apparently it said reception closed at 20:00. We arrived on time, around 19:30, but a genuinely grumpy, rude man at reception scolded us for being late, even though we weren't.
