We had delicious dinner and breakfast, and were really happy with the food, drinks, facilities, and service during our one night camping at Le Silence Du Midi, Comus. Gunther was cheerful, friendly, and very helpful. His wife, Ellen, kept everything tidy and clean while also cooking really well. They make a great team and maintain amazing standards. We'd highly recommend staying at Le Silence Du Midi.

The location is great for camping while hiking GR 107, and the hosts were lovely. I could easily imagine staying several nights to take in the beauty of Ariège.

The host made it easy to settle in after my 22-mile (35 km) hiking day, sorting out a campsite, shower, and a big meal even though I’d missed the dinner reservation time. I spent the rest of the day putting my feet up, reading, enjoying the views, and chatting. Families have lots to keep kids busy, including a trampoline and movies on the lawn at night. I’m visiting France from Colorado and came to do a few sections of the Sentier Cathare trail. Just beyond the campsite, the Gorges de la Frau was some of the most beautiful hiking I did on the trip. If you’re off the beaten path in the south of France, this is a great home base for exploring the countryside.

The evening meal was fab, and breakfast might have been the best ever. We were warmly welcomed while camping on a GR107 walk, and the facilities were very clean, with a great shower.

We've come back seven years running, and it's still fun every time. The owners are always friendly and ready to help, and they know all the nice spots nearby. There are beautiful walks, a lake for swimming, towns to visit, and time to relax. Highly recommended!
