Hôtel Saint Hubert

The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and pets were welcome. The room and the other public areas were fine, but the dim corridors had an unpleasant air freshener smell, a bit like an old people’s home. Maybe it came from the lavender bottles on the window sills. I feel bad if pet owners are responsible for that smell. We had a comfortable bed in a quiet room, and the shower cubicle, though it looked intimidating, worked perfectly well. The town is clean and pleasant, parking is free, and the location worked well for our stop between the southwest and Calais. The food was good and reasonably priced, as you’d expect at a Logis.

The lunch was part of our tour, and it was a really disappointing experience. The salmon was cold, the vegetables seemed old, and the dessert tasted of kerosene. There was only one waiter for 40 people, and he was very rude. Even our tour guide didn’t like the place.

This is a handy lunch stop on the château tour from Paris, with very friendly staff, parking, a restaurant, and a public toilet. The food was okay, though I think it was a set menu for the tour group. It’s a quaint little hotel in a beautiful part of the Loire Valley, conveniently placed for Château de Chambord, Château de Cheverny, and Château de Chenonceau.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was amazing.
