Château de Courban & Spa Nuxe

We chose a white Mercurey and really enjoyed it, and it was lovely to see a cheese trolley, which you don’t come across often these days. This was our second stay, and once again the staff were wonderful. Patricia welcomed us so warmly. We had a fantastic room with a huge bathroom, and everything had been thought of. The evening started with an aperitif and stunning canapés, then every course felt like a taste experience. The food and service were excellent. We’ll be back.

The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms beautifully arranged. We had a lovely night in this boutique hotel, set in a historic little château in a charming village. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The spa treatments were excellent, and we loved the restaurant. It’s a stunning château in a rural French village, turned into a small to medium hotel with a spa. The place is on the smaller side and welcomes dogs. We had a great time. The staff spoke fluent English, which helped since I only speak a little French. We’d come back. Many thanks!

We’ve spent at least half the year in four or five star hotels and travel a lot, so we know what we’re talking about. We won’t return here. The hotel could be much nicer with friendlier, better trained staff, more up to date furniture, and a better breakfast. We paid at least €500 for dinner, yet there wasn’t even a nice candle on the table. Getting into the hotel was difficult because there was no clear sign. We had the new room, which was nice for travelling with dogs. The woman at reception was nice, but staff didn’t offer help at check in or check out. The man, probably the manager, was very rude. We arrived for dinner at 8:30 and didn’t get the main course until around midnight. The beef was very tough, and I wouldn’t recommend the fish with satay sauce either. The sommelier didn’t seem to know anything about the wines, so we decided not to take one. In the morning, staff told us breakfast was included, but it turned out not to be. We went anyway, and it was really bad, with nothing fresh like fruit or eggs. I just had a coffee from a cheap machine. At check out, the French manager made a whole scene about charging us for breakfast, even though staff had said it was included. It was €30 per person, which was ridiculous. After calling my husband, he said okay and told me goodbye without even looking at me. How rude can a manager be?
