ibis Styles Paris La Defense Courbevoie

It was only a few minutes' walk to Courbevoie station, so the location was very convenient. We were delighted that a stroller could be made available and reserved for us, and the service was excellent even before our check-in date. Breakfast was consistently high quality. We were very happy with our four-day stay and with our choice of hotel.

The breakfast is the saving grace, a solid three out of five. The rooms are tiny, with hardly enough space to walk, and there is no elevator to the upstairs rooms, so expect to carry your luggage up. The name includes La Defense, which is misleading since it's a good 15-minute walk away. That takes my overall rating to two.

The triple room had a double bed and a sofa, so three people could sleep there, but there really wasn't room to spend time in it. It's a sleep, shower, and head out kind of place. The AC was building-regulated rather than room-regulated, so there was no way to adjust it. And with transportation so close, you can hear the trains. The breakfast staff were nice and smiley, thank you, but the breakfast itself was average for an Ibis. Prices didn't help: when it rained I had to buy an umbrella for 10€, and a can of soda in the evening cost 3€. For real. I was close to giving three stars, but I'll give two.

The rooms are small but clean, and the lift is small too. I guess that's usual in Paris, being so close to La Défense.
