Staycity Aparthotels, Paris, La Défense

The location makes getting into the city easy. Esplanade de la Défense on Metro Line 1 is right nearby, taking you straight to the Louvre, Champs-Élysées and other central sights. Westfield Les 4 Temps is just the next stop, and there's a Monoprix across the road. The redeveloped area feels open and modern, with nice walks and views of the La Défense skyline. It's generally safe and quiet after a busy day in town. I've stayed at Staycity Aparthotels La Défense about four times this year, and it really does feel like a home away from home. The apartments are bright, spotless and nicely laid out, with lots of daylight, a comfy sofa and a practical kitchenette with what you need. The shared laundry room and gym are great extras. Staff are friendly, helpful and multilingual every time. The 24-hour reception, lounge and café/shop are handy too, with hot food, snacks, drinks and breakfast in the morning, all in the building. I'm a Staycity member and have tried several places around the UK and Europe. This is one of my favourites for comfort, reliability and value. I love Paris, and this hotel is a big part of that. I'll definitely be back, already planning more stays.

After long days, it was easy to relax in the clean, modern, comfortable room. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help with whatever I needed. It's in a great spot for business travelers, with public transport, restaurants and shops nearby. I also really liked the quiet atmosphere and the well-equipped amenities.

We found it good value, with comfortable, clean rooms, a nice shower and useful basics like a cooker, microwave, small fridge and sink. Towels were changed daily, and there were snacks and a welcome card in the room, which I loved. The receptionist was really friendly too. Breakfast was simple but good for the price. It's around a 10-minute walk to the metro, with a supermarket two minutes away and a few restaurants within five minutes. There's a bus stop outside, though we never used it, and a playground across from the hotel if you have kids. The modern business district is busy by day but very quiet in the evening. Even at night, we felt safe walking to and from the metro. I'd definitely come back. There were just two tea bags and two coffee pods in the room. When we went to breakfast close to 10 a.m., staff were putting things away while people were still eating, though I suppose they have to stick to the breakfast hours. Apart from that, it was a pleasant stay.

The larger studio was clean and roomy, and actually felt bigger than the one-bedroom apartments since it didn't have a partition wall. We used the kitchenette every day, though the sink was tiny. The bathroom was spotless. Like others, we found the hot water only lukewarm after 11 p.m. The lobby was clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel is outside the center, but Metro Line 1 from Esplanade de la Défense gets you to the main attractions in about 20 minutes. From Gare du Nord, take the RER and change to Line 1 at La Défense. The walk from the station is about eight minutes through a small estate, over a walkway, then down by lift or stairs, followed by a short straight walk of about five minutes. The area feels especially safe, though if walking alone at night you might want to move quickly. It's nice to be away from central Paris's chaos and still have direct metro access. Aside from the station walk, it's a five out of five for me, and I'd stay here again.
