A tucked-away house in a lovely part of the city, with a welcoming host. Parking is on site, in the backyard behind a gate.

The bedding was comfortable and the cleanliness acceptable, but our three-night booking at €100 a night for two adults and two children was a big mistake. The welcome was cold, with no introductions. From other reviews, I gathered the hostess was Valérie, and that some guests had croissants. We had fruit salad, yogurt, bread, muesli, and orange juice on the first morning, but no fruit and very little bread on the second. The bathroom was freezing, so we had to use the hairdryer to warm it a bit. The hostess reminded us at least 5 or 6 times that this was her home and she needed privacy. We couldn't use the kitchen or cook, or even heat a baby food jar. There was no access to a washing machine despite laundry service being mentioned. We arrived with a little food and had to ask for space in her fridge; she set an alarm when she went out even though our food was in there. A microwave and a table with at least one chair wouldn't be luxuries. We had to eat outside or sit on the landing floor with meals we'd ordered. Thank you for the gesture, but we'll stay elsewhere next time and look more carefully. B&Bs priced like hotel family rooms seem to be losing the authentic human connection that made them special. What a shame.

The house is comfortably furnished, and our spacious room had a comfortable bed, a private bathroom, and a toilet upstairs. Breakfast was excellent too. A very friendly welcome at this beautifully located B&B. Highly recommended!

A lovely welcome in a beautiful house, with a lovely garden and a beautiful room. We'll gladly come back.

The owner gave us a very warm welcome, and the villa was pleasant. It's close to the tram and metro, making Lille easy to reach by public transport. Villa Cavrois and the Dunkirk swimming pool are must-sees. We'd be happy to return.
