ibis Lyon Nord

The food selection is very decent, and the staff and management are keen to help. Few Ibis places seem to be building much of an atmosphere or identity, but here you get a little more than you booked.

Breakfast in the lovely garden was excellent, and our room was lovely and clean. Everyone was so welcoming, especially with France doing so well against South Africa in the game. The place had a warm, friendly feel and I can't fault it. Well worth finding if you need somewhere to stop near Lyon.

I’m writing this from the restaurant. The hotel itself has a nice garden and a decent restaurant, and I’ve stayed at Ibis Lyon several times before, enjoying everything about it. But one staff member smelled strongly of old sweat while serving tables, to the point that it was disgusting and made it hard to enjoy the food. I wasn't looking forward to being served. After I posted about it on Trip Advisor, another staff member accused me of discrimination. That was ridiculous. I was having dinner with my wife after checking in, and everything had been excellent until this person came on shift. The smell followed them around the dining room. Someone at the hotel said the reception area smelled of perfume after checking the conditions in response to my comment, but that doesn't change what I experienced. Old sweat is old sweat, whoever it comes from, and someone serving at the bar and tables shouldn't smell as if soap doesn't exist. If customers are usually right, management should take a complaint like mine seriously instead of accusing me. Their reaction was the last straw, and I’ll stay somewhere else next time. Gunnar E

Just one night here, but we loved our stay. A big thank you to Zora, Barth and Mounir for making it so enjoyable and personal. Their care, passion for customer service and smiles really made things easier for us. Merci!!
