Château De Denonville

We had to leave in a hurry, which was a shame because the huge building had so many amazing features. Our family room was enormous and in a very old part of this beautiful château, not too far from Chartres. Breakfast was good. They also host weddings, and it must be an amazing setting if the parents can afford it.

We had the place to ourselves on our floor, with three ensuite rooms for four adults and two children aged 5 and 8. The children were amazed that we were staying in a place like this for just one night on our way to the Loire valley. Some parts felt like a museum, while other areas are still being worked on. That'll take years, but it didn't spoil our stay at all. The château began as a castle in the 12th century, and there's a lot of grounds to walk around. It's very private and not easy to find your way in, but wow, what a place once you do. The owners were lovely, and even made us a four course evening meal. We ate outside in the grounds, with wonderful food and atmosphere. Breakfast was in a lovely dining room with a huge table for everyone. You couldn't ask for more. They also hold weddings here. The weather was very hot for the whole holiday. Thank you for making our stay so memorable xxxxxx

We were on our way back to Blighty from the south of France and were wowed as soon as we drove in. The grounds are stunning, our hosts were fabulous, and my family were so happy there. My only regret is not having more time to explore. One of the kids even asked, "Daddy, why didn't we stop here on the way to Issel?!!" I'd absolutely recommend the Chateau to anyone travelling through France. It was incredible value, and we'll be going back.

The staff were warm and accommodating, and the castle felt fascinating and authentic. It exceeded what I expected!
