Palm Bay

One of the most special places we’ve ever stayed, and a truly spectacular villa. We’re two adults and two teenagers, and the accommodation worked really well for us, with lots of space, beautiful views, comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and great wifi. We walked into town each morning for the boulangerie and most evenings for dinner. Mornings were for relaxing around the pool, then in the afternoons we’d drive five minutes to one of several lovely nearby beaches. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas!

The garden at Palm Bay Villa was a delight, with more kinds of palm trees than I knew existed, and the hummingbirds found the feeder we brought within minutes. We were there for November, and most mornings I walked ten minutes into town for a fresh baguette, getting a good workout on the way back. The vegetable market and the excellent butcher who comes on Fridays kept us supplied. His truck parks at the far end of town from the villa. We mostly cooked at home, and the kitchen had everything we needed to eat well. In the evenings we usually read and sipped local rum in the upstairs living room. The deck was lovely for watching sailboats come and go, and the outdoor living room was great when it rained. The pool looks out over the bay, though frequent rain kept it cool. The villa was everything my wife and I had been promised, and more. The cleaning lady came weekly to make the beds and change towels. The pool people visited once a week, and the gardener came as needed. I'd happily recommend the villa to friends.

Both floors are laid out very well, and each has a breathtaking panoramic view across Deshaies Bay. A superb villa.

The huge terrace has a wonderful view, and the place is furnished with real care. We were lucky to find an open slot, and it's hard to imagine anything better. Just pack plenty of mosquito repellent.
