Viviane, the owner, was the best part. She's a wonderful, knowledgeable host, quick to respond and full of helpful ideas, from day trips around the region to things to do in Dijon. We enjoyed the apartment so much that we'd already booked it again for June 2023 after our month-long stay. The apartment is spacious, with high wood-beamed ceilings and everything we could need. The internet was consistently very fast. Tall windows look out both onto the street and the pretty inner courtyard, so the place gets a pleasant cross breeze. The setting in the historic district is enchanting, almost like a stage set. It's close to Notre Dame Cathedral and just around the corner from Les Halles food market. There are plenty of lively restaurants and cafes nearby, while the block itself stays quiet and peaceful. Dijon is a special small city, not a place that exists just for tourists. It's a university town with all the cultural activities that brings, and the wealthy capital of the Burgundy wine region. The city seems to have the resources to keep its streets clean, its extensive transit system in excellent shape, and its monuments and museums well maintained. To us, it's the opposite of places like Florence/Venice.
