Kyriad Dol de Bretagne

The reception lady is lovely, and she seems to be there day and night. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast was good. I didn't try the pool. One morning my wife greeted a tall man behind reception, but he ignored her completely. Maybe he was just having a bad day. The hotel itself is fine, but it's in the middle of an industrial estate, miles from the nearest town. Driving there takes about 10 minutes, so that's okay if you have a car. If you want a drink, though, forget it.

We barely slept on the first night because noise from two neighboring rooms kept us awake. The rooms are tiny and the soundproofing is poor, so you could hear people shouting and doors banging. We had booked three nights through Booking, but decided to cut our stay short. The two managers clearly weren't happy with us leaving. Booking confirmed how much we owed for the one night, but the managers insisted that a partial refund was impossible. They said they just didn't feel like giving one and that we couldn't force them to. They offered no other solution, not even another room. We contacted Booking.com, and a friendly woman confirmed the refund and said the managers' account was false. Booking will refund us if the hotel doesn't. That's customer service, thanks Booking.com. The experience here was awful. I'd stay well away.

The place is really clean, the hotel itself is nice, and there's a pleasant swimming pool. It was hard to find, even with GPS. I got there at 2 pm, but everything was shut until 5. The automatic check-in didn't show my reservation, which was annoying. Breakfast is available, but you have to sign up the day before. I like deciding in the morning whether I want it, so I skipped it.

We spent last weekend here. The heated pool and hotel were clean, and breakfast was fine. The staff were friendly and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. We'd recommend it.
