Hotel Restaurant Le Pech De Malet

The owners were such charming, friendly, welcoming people, and we really enjoyed meeting them. Dinner, cooked and served by them and their lovely daughter, was delicious. After 2 weeks in Dordogne, we'd found restaurant menus getting rather repetitive, so their creative menu was much appreciated. The countryside setting feels like stepping back in time, though with thoroughly modern amenities. Our room was attractively decorated, sparkling clean, and had a lovely view. We only wish our plans had allowed a longer stay. We wish the owners great success with their ambitious plans for the future.

The rooms were lovely, the dinner excellent, and even drinks were reasonably priced, so at the time we stayed it felt like very good value. The place is new and work is still going on, but it's been kept out of sight enough that the visual experience is wonderful in almost every corner, apart from perhaps the little gate around the pool. I especially liked how the owner can step back and see what could be improved. That gives me hope for the future of an already lovely place. At a higher price, some details might have bothered me more: the walls are thin, though well isolated, there's no shower door (the toilet does have a door), and in 2025 I expected natural wine. A safe recommendation!

The setting is beautiful and peaceful, just right for relaxing, and the room was well cared for with nothing to complain about. Anne-Laure and Charles welcomed us so attentively and kindly right from arrival, which immediately made us feel at ease. It’s a charming place where we felt good from beginning to end. We left delighted and would gladly return to Domaine de Malet.

The hosts are so warm and welcoming, they made us feel right at home. We loved the memorable evenings on the veranda, looking over the valley, and the dinner and delicious breakfast the next morning. You can tell how much care has gone into the details. Such a charming, green and peaceful place to unwind, where everything feels harmonious and lovingly put together.
