The location is good.

The food seemed frozen, and the waffles were hard as crackers. Eating them felt like having air with a smear of chocolate sauce. €12 for 3 frozen waffles? No thanks, I won't be fooled again. Right next door, though, the artisan ice cream maker had truly delicious ice cream. If you're in Domme and want to try something new, go for the ice cream instead and avoid this tourist trap at all costs. It's a real slog.

The only thing I liked was breakfast, with fresh bread and croissants, though anyone who doesn't like strawberry jam may be disappointed. I was very let down by this hotel. Dust and cobwebs were everywhere, the rooms hadn't been vacuumed and smelled bad, and there was no hygiene. The bathroom was dilapidated, and the showers and toilets were in poor, dirty condition. They didn't seem to be disinfected between guests, with hairs left behind, and toilet paper was scarce. The electrical outlets didn't work. Food was the worst part: it was delivered in the morning, left on the sidewalk for several minutes in blazing sun, and was frozen or pre-packaged. During the COVID period, the owner didn't wear a mask and smoked in his "restaurant."

The meal was wonderful, made with local ingredients and cooked with care, and we were given a very warm welcome. The hotel has a vintage feel but is well maintained. Our room was lovely and the bathroom was clean. Thank you, Alain.
