Camping Le Perpetuum ***

The staff were lovely and very helpful, and there was a good mix of guests, mostly French, with lots from Holland and the UK too. We were there for 2 weeks at the start of August with our two teenagers, and were sad to leave. There's plenty to do nearby, including lovely towns and villages. Sarlat is a short drive away for shops and supermarkets, and there's a shop on site with bread and pastries each morning. The site has a relaxed but lively feel, with good entertainment and a great bar. The restaurant burgers are awesome. Pitches are spacious and shady, the pools are a good size and never too busy, and you can get to the river from the site. There are great beaches just a 5 minute walk away. Facilities are very clean, and I only had to queue once for a shower. The toilets don't have seats, if that matters to you.

The walk to Domme is lovely, about 2.5km along the river through walnut orchards. Much of it is shaded, so it was comfortable even in the June 2025 heat. There's a nearly as nice walk the other way to Vitrac. The pitches are grassy and shady, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the pool complex is nice. The river beach was disappointing, though the shower blocks were clean.

We felt welcome as soon as we arrived, and were offered a couple of pitches to choose from. It’s a fabulous shady campsite, with lovely pool areas offering plenty of shade as well as sun loungers. The bar is nice, and the restaurant makes the best thin crust pizza I've ever had. Facilities were good and kept really clean, with toilet paper provided and even hair dryers, a real luxury!

A few hundred metres up the bank, there's a little river beach with shallow water that's perfect for smaller kids. The current by the site is quite strong, but it's also fun to jump in and drift back to camp. We had a lovely 5 nights here a few weeks ago, staying by the river and sitting beside our tents watching it flow past. I'd recommend the shady pitches, where the trees are good for hanging hammocks. We didn't use much of the site's facilities, but the toilet block was very clean and well kept. We liked that it was all open and unisex, much easier. The small shop had good bread and pastries, plus wine at a good price. Recommended!
