Auberge Du Roselet

We stopped here to split up the drive from the 3 Valleys to Geneva. The setting and view were amazing, the service was great, and the coffee was good. The food at the other tables looked fabulous too. Definitely worth a visit.

I didn't stay at the hotel, so this is just about the restaurant. We were greeted right away by a pleasant old man and got a window table. Lunch had just started, so ordering wine took a little while. We ordered lunch at the same time, an arctic char for two, and it came out surprisingly quickly, even though they took time to choose the fish they'd cook. The roasted potatoes and mushrooms were delicious, and the fish skin was amazing with salted butter that really lit up the taste buds. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the menu prices seemed reasonable, though I haven't seen the bill yet. My wife just ate an apple tart so good I'm worried she might leave me for it. As for the negative reviews, I can't fathom what they're talking about, unless summer tourons deserve what they get.

The room was uncomfortable and outdated, with intense heat, no air conditioning, fridge, or kettle, and very old furniture. The photos didn't match what we found, and there was no proper reception. The whole stay was stressful. The host became extremely aggressive over a small misunderstanding when two toddlers briefly came to change clothes before going to the beach. Although the listing said “children of all ages are welcome,” we were falsely accused and told to leave without a refund. We had to call the police just to get the key back. Not recommended.

The hotel itself is average, but the location is epic and the food is excellent, if a bit pricey. You're paying for the place, and the sunset over the lake makes it worth it, I'd say. Absolutely recommendable!
