The lakefront setting is hard to beat, but the rooms were only alright. Our shower door wouldn't close, so some water got onto the bathroom floor. The restaurant was closed Monday through Wednesday in the off season. I'd come back in summer, but would choose somewhere else in the off season. When it's too cold to enjoy the lake, I'm not sure the price is worth it.

We based ourselves here for a cycling trip, and the lake was so inviting after long days on the bikes. You could climb high into the mountains or take it easy around the lake. The hotel even fit us in for an extra night in a different room. Both rooms were lovely, though the one facing the water was understandably better. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, towels were provided for the lake, and you could book a private 45 minutes in the hot tub and sauna. The only letdown was the limited dinner menu. The food was just okay, and it didn't make us want to return for another meal, so we had to leave the resort for dinner. Still, it's an amazing little boutique hotel, with a lawn running right down to the water, a swimming dock, and a relaxing private beach. The location was perfect, and we'll definitely return to this little paradise.

The rooms were clean and tidy, with very comfortable beds. The front of house team was amazing, friendly, and very accommodating. I can't wait to return to this incredible spot right on Lake Annecy, with plenty of room for sunbathing, outdoor seating, and the alpes in the background.

We felt at home right away in Clos Marcel. The views were incredible, the rooms so comfortable, and the staff were kind, friendly, and ready to help with anything. It was exactly the relaxing but active family holiday we wanted. My parents loved it so much they booked another week in September before we'd even left! Perfect if you're after great sleep, wonderful views, and a fun holiday with room to rest.

The location deserves four stars, and the lunch staff were very good. The menu, though, gets two stars: there was so little choice that we couldn't have both lunch and dinner there. We ended up finding l’Abbaye restaurant gastronomic in Talloires, a few kilometers away, for dinner, and it was fabulous. Room cleanliness gets two stars too. The dust under the bed clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and the toilet bowl and shower... no comment. Then there's the soundproofing. Who thought putting a table soccer in the hallway to the rooms was a good idea? Two people were playing early in the morning, and from our room we could follow the whole game. We stayed during the low season, when the hotel was empty. I can't imagine the noise when it's full. What a shame. These are the details that make a difference, and we won't be back.
