Chambres d'hôtes Notre Paradis

We only stayed briefly, but I’d happily come back. Our spacious triple room had its own shower and toilet and was nicely decorated, though there were a few steps up and down. We had dinner with the host and breakfast together too. I’d found the place on Booking.com while looking for somewhere sociable and uncomplicated, but I didn’t have a credit card, so I called instead. The conversation was very friendly, and we got the same warm welcome when we arrived. Our dachshund quickly became friends with their young dog, and we were offered a welcome drink.

The owners were unfriendly and barely polite, and their French was very poor and hard to understand. The toilet and bathroom shared with other guests were dirty, the sink was broken, the window leaked, and the door wouldn’t lock. There was noise from other tenants on the terrace, terrible lighting, and outdated electrical wiring. We were met with a frosty “pay now” attitude, and there were off-road motorcycles in the entrance. Breakfast was acceptable, but this was the worst place we’ve stayed in thirty years. A disgrace. Avoid it.

The hosts are friendly and charming, and the breakfast is generous. It’s basic accommodation with shared bathrooms, decent bedding, and nothing fancy to eat in the morning. It certainly isn’t a three-star hotel, but at this price, what more do you expect? There’s a campsite nearby if it’s not for you.

The room was average, but the shared bathroom was dirty, as were the shared toilets. Breakfast had some variety, though the products were poor quality and not local. There was an old, smelly dog sleeping under the table. Stay away from this place.
